MUJ Plants Hundreds of Trees in North Bandung Area

Greening Efforts on Critical Land

BANDUNG – PT Migas Utama Jabar (MUJ) Group carried out a tree planting activity in the North Bandung Area (KBU). This initiative is part of the Company’s commitment to rehabilitating critical land while supporting environmental conservation efforts.

Recently, MUJ Group planted as many as 500 productive trees at two locations in Bandung Regency: Ciburial Village and Mekarmanik Village, both in Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency.

According to MUJ Director Muhamad Sani, this tree planting program was also carried out in the spirit of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration. Under the theme “Semangat Merdeka, Aksi Lestari Nyata” (“Spirit of Independence, Real Sustainability Action”), MUJ combined the values of nationalism with care for the surrounding environment.
“This spirit reflects both the struggles of the past and our concrete actions to safeguard the future of the nation,” said Muhamad Sani in the company’s official statement on September 3, 2025.

The tree planting in North Bandung involved not only MUJ management and employees, but also the West Java Forestry Agency (Dishut), local communities, and environmental activist groups, highlighting the importance of collaboration in protecting nature.

Sani further explained that the trees planted were productive species such as mango, durian, and avocado, which provide both ecological and economic value for local residents.
“These trees will benefit the community economically in the long term through fruit harvests,” Sani said.

He also emphasized why North Bandung was chosen as the planting site. The area is a vital ecosystem buffer, flood controller, and water catchment source for the Greater Bandung region. With the addition of these productive trees, MUJ hopes to help reduce environmental risks while creating sustainable benefits.

“We hope such movements will not stop here. Through MUJ’s CSR and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, we remain committed to carrying out sustainable initiatives to restore this area, which is highly important for the Greater Bandung region,” Sani concluded.
